LDTI Data Requirements and Disclosures

LDTI will have a substantial impact on insurer’s data and information needs, particularly those required to comply with the enhanced disclosure requirements. This session will focus on those enhanced disclosure requirements, which are significantly expanded over current US GAAP, and will consider technical requirements, system, and modeling implications. It will provide industry insight as to how insurers are approaching the enhanced requirements as well as obtaining better insight into their business and key drivers of earnings.

Gavin Thomas Stewart FSA,MAAA (Moderator)

Gavin is a life actuarial manager in KPMG’s risk analytics practice, based in Chicago.  He has ten years of experience in the life insurance industry, and provides services to KPMG’s clients in both an audit and advisory capacity.  His primary focus is financial reporting and assessing the impacts of regulatory/accounting change, but his background encompasses a range of practice areas, including financial reporting, modeling, model validation, and actuarial transformation.

Steven Abel

Steven is an Insurance industry professional in KPMG’s Risk Advisory Services practice with more than 20 years of management advisory and business experience. He collaborates with finance, actuarial, data and technology executives to effectively respond to change, ready their organizations for the future, and where necessary, transform the business.

Michael C Hayes FSA,MAAA

Director, Risk Advisory Solutions - Actuarial; KPMG LLP

Michael is a Director and Actuary in KPMG’s Actuarial Services practice. He has over 20 years of experience in the life insurance industry, both as a consultant, as well as working for multiple large global insurance companies. His primary areas of practice are in life insurance and annuities. He has led audit and advisory engagements for numerous life insurance and financial services companies, in addition to holding management positions in product development, risk management and actuarial modeling at multiple insurance companies. His areas of focus include US GAAP and statutory financial reporting, accounting change, valuation, mergers and acquisitions, pricing and product development, and economic capital.
