Overview

Joe Wurzburger, FSA, MAAA (Moderator)
Joe has been with the Society of Actuaries since 2014. In his current role as Senior Director of Practice Support and Advancement, Joe leads a team of staff fellows who support SOA members across all practice areas. His team encourages thought leadership, contributes to actuarial knowledge development and content creation, facilitates innovation, and provides internal SOA consulting.
Joe further serves as senior staff fellow to the health practice area and provides subject matter expertise in long-term care insurance. In addition to his responsibilities related to traditional actuarial practice areas, Joe also leads the SOA’s insurtech activities.
Joe is a frequent speaker at industry meetings and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a Member of the National Academy of Social Insurance.

Deana K. Bell, FSA, Health Virtual Meeting Chair , MAAA
Deana Bell is a consulting actuary with Milliman's Seattle healthcare practice. Deana has expertise is in year-end financial reporting and reserving, Medicare Advantage, risk adjustment, and pharmacy benefits.

Jackie Lee, FSA, MAAA
Vice President & Principal
Jackie Lee, FSA, MAAA is a Vice President and Principal with Lewis & Ellis, Inc. in Dallas, TX. She joined L&E in June 2008. Since the beginning of Jackie's actuarial career in 2004, she focused on the individual and group health insurance markets. She assists insurance clients, state insurance departments, and CMS in reviewing policy forms and pricing/rate setting for individual and group products for with various types of health plan types, including but not limited to major medical plans, indemnity plans, Medicare Advantage and Part D plans, Medicaid, and pharmacy plans. Jackie opines on reserves for several health plans and assists these plans in setting IBNR and other reserves.More recently, Jackie has assisted companies with pricing Medicare Advantage plans. As part of L&E's MAPD practice, she oversees the development and maintenance of internal pricing models and market competitive tools.She has been on the Health Section Council Leadership since 2016. She has served as the Secretary and Treasurer. She is currently the Vice-Chair of the Council. She is a frequent speaker and volunteer for the Society of Actuaries.
