Dan is a principal and consulting actuary with the Portland, Maine, office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 1998. Since joining Milliman, Dan has assisted his clients in a wide range of individual disability, group disability, and group life insurance projects. His primary areas of practice include product design, pricing, compliance, valuation, actuarial appraisals, and expert witness work. His clients include many of the leading disability and group life insurers in the United States and Canada, as well as public and private employers. Dan is also the editor of the Group Insurance textbook and has authored articles for publications ranging from the North American Actuarial Journal to Contingencies.

Dan Wisted is the Principal and Executive Benefit Consultant that offers extensive expertise in Disability and Long Term Care Insurance. He provides one-on-one, concierge benefit consulting to our clients’ top executives and management teams. Dan oversees the execution and implementation of benefit plans while collaborating closely with The Todd Organization’s internal team. He advocates on behalf the client with insurance carriers, and negotiates with underwriters for innovative and creative business solutions. As the Disability Insurance Specialist for The Todd Organization, Dan is the key relationship manager to major disability insurance carriers for The Todd Organization. For 30 years, his insight into the disability needs of corporations, product offerings from a variety of carriers, and the governing industry regulations gives Dan the expertise to direct the disability plan designs that The Todd Organization implements with its clients. Among his many achievements, Dan reached the Top Ten Disability Income producers in the nation for 8 consecutive years.
